Tyrian 2000, one of my all-time favorite games, made to run natively on Apple Silicon Macs.
I wanted a nice Mac version that plays like a casual shooter, full screen with Metal graphics and easy controls. The visuals are lightly updated, with re-rendered backgrounds and HUD frame, crisper text, and new light and glow effects, while staying true to the original pixel art. I tuned this build for fun and beauty, although you can set it back to more traditional Tyrian play if you like. It's built on OpenTyrian, and I'm thankful to the OpenTyrian team for keeping this game alive and playable for so many years. It's free, and the source is on GitHub.
